காதல் ஒரு பக்கமாக இருத்தல் துன்பமானது; காவடியின் பாரம் போல் இருபக்கமாகவும் ஒத்திருப்பது இன்பமானதாகும்.
சாலமன் பாப்பையா
ஆண், பெண் என்னும் இரு பக்கத்தில் ஒரு பக்கம் மட்டுமே காதல் இருந்தால் அது கொடுமை காவடியின் பாரத்தைப் போல இருபக்கமும் இருந்தால்தான் இனிது.
கலைஞர்
காவடித் தண்டின் இரண்டு பக்கங்களும் ஒரே அளவு கனமாக இருப்பதுபோல், காதலும் ஆண், பெண் எனும் இருவரிடத்திலும் மலர வேண்டும்; ஒரு பக்கம் மட்டுமே ஏற்படும் காதலால் பயனுமில்லை; துயரமும் உருவாகும்
